WhatsApp Tricks: Nowadays, WhatsApp has become an integral part of our daily lives. Chatting, sharing photos, and sending work documents are all done on this app. But sometimes, an important message or chat is accidentally deleted, and then a stressful story begins. If this has happened to you, there's no need to worry because now you can recover your deleted WhatsApp messages with just one click.
Whatsapp's Undo Delete for Me Feature
WhatsApp recently introduced a very useful feature called Undo Delete for Me. When you accidentally delete a message, the Undo option appears on the screen for a few seconds. Clicking on it instantly restores your deleted message. This feature is a boon for those who make mistakes while clearing chats in a hurry.
Messages can also be retrieved from Google Drive or iCloud backups
If you accidentally deleted your chats completely and the Undo feature didn't work, don't worry. WhatsApp automatically backs up your messages to Google Drive or iCloud every day (or when you set it).
Just follow these steps:
Uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp.
Log in with your mobile number.
The app will give you the option to restore the backup. Click Restore.
Your old chats and media files will be restored within a few minutes.
Recovery from a local backup is also possible.
If you haven't turned on cloud backup, WhatsApp also saves local backup files to your phone's storage. Go to File Manager and open the WhatsApp → Databases folder. From there, select the most recent backup file and restore the file named msgstore.db.crypt14. This may also restore your old messages.
