PM-KISAN 20th Installment Delay: Why Farmers Haven't Received the Next Payment Yet?

Farmers across India are eagerly waiting for the 20th installment of the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi Yojana, but there has been an unusual delay this time. Nearly 9.8 crore farmers are concerned as the payment hasn't been credited even as July 2025 nears its end, unlike last year when the installment was released in June.

📌 What is PM-KISAN Scheme?

Launched in 2019, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana provides ₹6,000 per year in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each to small and marginal farmers. The money is transferred directly into the farmer’s bank account (DBT), making it one of the largest DBT schemes in the world.

So far, 19 installments have been disbursed. Here’s the timeline of the last few payments:

• 19th Installment: February 2025

• 18th Installment: October 2024

• 17th Installment: June 2024

🕒 Why Is the 20th Installment Delayed?

The government has not issued an official date for the 20th installment yet, but several procedural reasons may be causing the delay:

Pending e-KYC of many farmers

Unlinked bank accounts with Aadhaar

Incorrect land records or beneficiary details

Verification of beneficiary status

Administrative updates and cross-checks

✅ Who Is Eligible for PM-KISAN?

To receive the benefits, a farmer must:

• Be an Indian citizen

• Own cultivable land

• Be a small or marginal farmer

• Not be an income tax payer

• Not receive a pension of ₹10,000 or more

• Not be an institutional landholder

To avoid missing out, farmers should complete the following steps:

Complete e-KYC

Link Aadhaar with bank account

Verify bank account details

Update land record information

Check beneficiary status

Update mobile number

🔧 How to Update Land Details?

Visit: pmkisan.gov.in

Go to Farmers Corner → Click on State Transfer Request

Enter your Aadhaar or registration number

Enter Captcha, request and enter OTP

Upload land documents (e.g. Khasra, Khatauni)

Submit the form after verification

Go to www.pmkisan.gov.in

Click on ‘Beneficiary Status’

Enter your Aadhaar or account number

Click ‘Get Data’ to see your installment status

🧾 How to Check if Your Name Is on the Beneficiary List?

Visit: pmkisan.gov.in

Click on the yellow “Dashboard” tab

Choose your State → District → Block → Panchayat

Click Get Report to see if your name is listed

🔐 e-KYC Is Mandatory

• Farmers must complete e-KYC via:

  • PM-KISAN portal (OTP-based) or

  • Nearest CSC center (biometric-based)
