Ujjian (Madhya Pradesh): In a ceremony held at the Shipra Vihar Commercial Complex on Dewas Road, here on Friday night, CM Mohan Yadav inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for various development projects worth over ₹360 crore under the aegis of the Ujjain Development Authority (UDA), higher education department and Maharshi Panini Sanskrit University.
As part of urban development, CM Yadav also laid the foundation stone for the second phase of Nagar Vikas Yojana numbers 3 and 4, estimated at ₹175 crore. Additionally, he inaugurated Shipra Vihar Commercial Complex built for ₹48 crore, a commercial-cum-residential complex costing ₹ 68 crore, the MR-11 Road developed under the Master Plan for ₹16 crore.
Following this, the CM inaugurated Ujjain’s first seven-storey multipurpose commercial complex, “Pratikalpa,” constructed by the UDA at Nanakheda. He also inspected the new facility. The programme commenced with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony. Divisional commissioner and ex-officio chairman of UDA Sanjay Gupta delivered the welcome address and presented a summary of the development initiatives. A short film showcasing the ongoing and upcoming development projects by UDA was also screened.

These include the foundation stone laying for a new building for the forensic science and food technology department at Vikram University at a cost of ₹3.76 crore, a girls’ hostel accommodating 200 students, to be constructed at a cost of ₹8.80 crore, central instrumentation laboratory and central computer laboratory at a cost of ₹4.70 crore, skill development laboratories, pharmacy, computer science facilities, rainwater harvesting system and renovation works costing ₹16.13 crore, school of physical education building with a budget of ₹7.38 crore, law college building construction with an estimated cost of ₹8.44 crore.
Yadav also inaugurated several completed projects, including twelve new classrooms at Government Girls’ College at a cost of ₹2.68 crore, four laboratories constructed for ₹1 crore, renovation of the Swarn Jayanti Hall, costing ₹35 lakh, a direct pathway and main gate from Khak Chowk to Government Madhav College, built for ₹40 lakh, Wing A (laboratories/museums) and Wing B (library and classrooms) at Government Girls’ Postgraduate College, Dussehra Maidan, constructed at a cost of ₹3.95 crore, a new girls’ hostel at Government Madhav College worth ₹2.94 crore, six additional rooms at the same college built for ₹3.86 crore and the Yogeshwar Shri Krishna Auditorium and two-storey Patanjali Bhawan at Maharshi Panini Sanskrit Vedic University constructed at a cost of ₹1.46 crore. To conclude the event, CM Yadav handed over appointment letters to newly-appointed assistant professors.
