A technical snag near Andheri railway station on the Western Railway line caused major disruptions to suburban train services on Thursday morning, inconveniencing thousands of commuters during peak office hours.
According to officials, a point failure occurred at approximately 8:25 am on the slow line near Andheri station, impacting both up and down services. This led to significant delays, with trains running behind schedule by 10 to 20 minutes. Commuters traveling towards key destinations such as Dadar and Churchgate were among the worst affected.

Despite the timely response, the glitch caused a ripple effect across the Western Railway network. Several local trains were forced to operate at reduced speeds, and a few services were even cancelled, leading to overcrowding and chaos at multiple stations. Regular office-goers bore the brunt of the disruption, with many reporting delays in reaching work.
