Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater hit 'difficult patch' as he 'reunites with ex-wife'

Send Push

Ariana Grande and Ethan Slaterfell in love after meeting on the set of Wicked two years ago, but now, sources claim the 7 Rings' stars lifestyle may be getting too much.

Before their romance started, both stars were married. Arianatied the knot with realtor Dolton Gomez in 2022, and Ethan was married and had a newborn child with his high school sweetheart Lilly Jay.

Their romance between the Wicked co-stars raised eyebrows with fans, and Ethan's ex Lilly wasn't shy from voicing how she felt about the whole situation, as she fumed Ariana was "not a girl’s girl".

However, Ariana and Ethan have recently been at the centre of split rumours. The actor was noticeably absent from her entourage at the MTV VMAs, where she had a huge night after being nominated for seven awards and taking home three.

imageSources are now claiming that Ethan and his estranged wife Lily have mended their relationship. The pair have previously expressed their commitment to co-parenting their son - and just before the VMAs, the actor was seen pictured with his ex-wife, and child in Jersey City, rather than being at Ariana's side in the spotlight.

Now, sources claim that the lifestyle may have become too much for the Spongebob actor, who "sometimes wonders if he should have stayed in his quieter world."

"The contrast is brutal," a source told the Daily Mail. The source tells the publication that her globe-trotting jam packed schedule and career, especially when looking after his son.

"‘He loves her, but he’s drowning in the circus of her life," an insider told the publication. "He’s used to a controlled Broadway stage, not sold-out arenas screaming for every move.

"Even when he’s home, he’s mentally halfway through the tour or rehearsals. It’s exhausting just watching him try to keep up."

The pair were last seen together publicly in April at Little Shop of Horrors preview, however, Ethan spoke out about Ariana publicly just last month.

At the premiere of Gen V season two in West Hollywood, he told People : “Ari's fans are unbelievable and incredible and ferocious in their support of her, and it's a beautiful thing.

“And I really hope that there are other opportunities to see her perform. It's really intense, and I've been sort of following along, but it's kind of an amazing thing that so many people want to see her shows, you know? Like what a beautiful thing.”

Ariana and Ethan will soon be reuniting on screen for the second part of the hit movie, Wicked: For Good, which releases in cinemas this November.
