Netflix subscribers have expressed their astonishment after discovering the streaming platform'smost-watched films- with some nodding in approvalwhilst others are left scratching their heads. The streaming giant boasts over 300 million paying members globally, with roughly 17.4 million based in the UK, so it's hardly surprising that its top five films span a wide range of genres.
Rankings are determined by total viewership within the first 91 days of a film's debut, meaning the top positions are constantly shifting as fresh favourites overtake established titles. Yet it seems certain films have maintained their grip on the summit for considerable periods, with Red Notice claiming the number one spot with 230,900,000 views.
Featuring Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gadot, the action-packed thriller follows "an FBI profiler pursuing the world's most wanted art thief becomes his reluctant partner in crime to catch an elusive crook who's always one step ahead".
Securing second place is the 2025 children's film KPOP Demon Hunters. The title displaced several other contenders after capturing younger viewers' hearts shortly following its launch.
The synopsis states: "When K-pop superstars Rumi, Mira and Zoey aren't selling out stadiums, they're using their secret powers to protect their fans from supernatural threats."
Taking third position is Carry-On, a 2024 thriller featuring Taron Egerton, Sofia Carson, and Jason Bateman. The plot revolves around an "airport security officer races to outsmart a mysterious traveller forcing him to let a dangerous item slip onto a Christmas Eve flight."
With a staggering 171,400,000 views, 'Don't Look Up' secured the fourth spot. The synopsis of the 2021 comedy states: "Two astronomers go on a media tour to warn humankind of a planet-killing comet hurtling toward Earth. The response from a distracted world: Meh."

And in fifth place, 'The Adam Project' captured hearts in 2022, chronicling the adventures of time-travelling pilot Adam Reed who joins forces with his younger self to alter the future.
However, not everyone was impressed by these films, as one Reddit user expressed: "What an awful indictment." Another chimed in with their critique: "Red Notice was terrible in my opinion."
A third Reddit commentator shared their brief viewing experience: "Red Notice I got about 5-10 minutes into and decided to watch something else."
One user praised 'Don't Look Up', while giving a more lukewarm review of 'The Adam Project': "Don't Look Up is great. Adam Project is a fine little Sci-Fi adventure, nothing particularly great though.
"Carry-On was a fun action/suspense flick. Not amazing, but I didn't regret watching it."
Yet another user offered their take: "Don't Look Up was okay. The Adam Project was incredibly predictable. I'll never watch Red Notice."
They summarised the films as: "They all fit in the same category; easily digested, easily forgotten. None of them will be remembered in 10 years."
Surprised at one film's inclusion, a final user remarked: "I'm amazed the Adam Project is in there as it didn't really get advertised or talked about.
"It was better than Red Notice. I quite enjoyed it. Carry-on was fine but could have done with more Kenneth Williams."
