Chinese vehicles have arrived in the UK with new brands offering products at bargain prices in a tempting move for consumers. Meanwhile, SUVs have emerged as the UK's favourite type of vehicle, accounting for over a third of car registrations in 2024.
Range Rover has been the market leader in the SUV space and China looks set to capitalise with a whole host of almost identical models set to challenge the British marque. Range Rover Evoque models are available for almost £60,000 with the latest 2025 Range Rover priced at more than £105,000. Express.co.uk takes a look at the major Range Rover challengers hitting the UK market from firms such as Jaecoo, Chery and MG.

Jaecoo has had a strong start to life in the UK, with 11,681 models sold in its first year on the market so far. The Jaecoo 7 (SHS) has topped the chart of most popular plug-in hybrid vehicles in August and even featured in the top 10 best-selling new cars.
The car's Super Hybrid System (SHS) is one of its biggest selling points, with models capable of over 700 miles of range on a single tank. From the outside, the Jaecoo 7 looks almost identical to the Range Rover Evoque but comes in at just £33,000.
Looking for something a little cheaper? The Omoda 7 may be the answer with competitive pricing at the heart of the pitch to consumers. The base Omoda 5 comes in at just under £24,000, with the E5 model also at Jaecoo's £33,000 mark.
The Omoda 7 also comes fitted with the Super Hybrid System offering 745 miles range. Inside the car is fitted with luxury features such as a sliding 15.6-inch infotainment screen and a Sony sound system.
GWM is a fairly new player in the UK, with the Haval Jolion Pro hitting the UK market for the first time in February 2025. The SUV is equipped with a 1.5L hybrid engine and a powerful electric motor which is said to offer "improved fuel efficiency",
The model is also equipped with safety tools such as cruise control, Automatic Emergency Braking and Blind Spot Detection. The car is one of the cheapest SUVs on the market with prices starting from £23,995.
The Tiggo 7 is the latest to hit the road with the vehicle only launching at a glitzy O2 event last month. The Tiggo 7 is available for just under £25,000, making it cheaper than Chery's sister brands Omonda and Jaecoo.
The model is also said to closely resemble the Range Rover Evoque making it a less affordable alternative for those on a slightly cheaper budget.
MG used to be a proud British manufacturer but was taken over by Chinese brand SAIC Motor back in 2007. They have seen a resurgence in recent years, with the ZS one of their leading budget SUV options.
Motorists can secure a ZS with a 1.5-litre petrol engine and 443-litre boot space for just £20,000.
