Halloween has come and gone, so now it's time to replace all the scary decorations with Christmas lights and decor. It's also slowly approaching the time of year when Christmas markets will be popping up all over the country. While there's plenty to choose from, there is one market that's particularly magical, and it will only be open for three days.
What's more, it's set in a beautiful Cornish town that looks like it's been frozen in time. That place is Fowey, which is perched on the south coast of Cornwall. It will host its annual Christmas Market from Friday, November 14, to Sunday, November 16, 2025. It's one of the region's most popular festive events, drawing tens of thousands of visitors each year.
The three-day event kicks off on Friday evening with a Father Christmas and Fowey Town Band Parade.
The whole town then lights up with festive cheer as nearly 100 regional traders take over Fowey Town Quay, Albert Quay and Webb Street.
Market-goers can expect handmade gifts, local produce, festive decorations, street food and Christmas drinks.
There will also be live music and street performers to keep the atmosphere lively throughout the weekend.
Visitors will find everything from artisan cheeses and Cornish rum to handcrafted silver jewellery and Christmas ornaments.
Some of the local traders include Cornish Gouda, Curds & Croust, Tumbled Treasure, Josh's Chocolate, and Cornish Cream Liqueurs.
Those looking for unique stocking fillers can browse stalls from local distilleries, artists, potters, chocolatiers, and clothing designers.
All traders are hand-picked to showcase the best of Cornwall and the South West.
Fowey's Christmas Market also supports local businesses, including the town's many independent shops, cafes and restaurants, which will be open throughout the weekend.
The event runs during the following hours:
- Friday November 14: 5.30pm - 8.30pm
- Saturday November 15: 10am - 5.30pm
- Sunday November 16: 10am - 4pm
To help with parking, Fowey Town Buses will run every 20 minutes from all car parks and the leisure centre.
Return tickets cost £2 per person, though timings vary slightly during the Friday evening parade.
Visitors are advised to park at larger sites like Main Car Park (PL23 1ET), Caffa Mill Car Park (PL23 1DF) or Fowey Leisure Centre (PL23 1HE), as central parking is limited.
Blue Badge holders can park free of charge for up to three hours, subject to availability.
For those arriving by train, the nearest stations are Par and St Austell, both of which are served by Great Western Railway and CrossCountry Trains. Local buses and taxis are available to complete the journey into Fowey.
The market is free to attend and suitable for all ages. Organisers say it's the perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit, shop early, and enjoy a festive day out by the sea.
And if you want to do more than shop, there's plenty to see around town. Visitors can take a walk along Fore Street, home to art galleries, boutiques and local food spots.
They can also head to Readymoney Cove, a small beach just a short walk away, or visit St Catherine's Castle, a 16th-century fort overlooking the estuary.
For those who enjoy the outdoors, the Fowey Hall Walk is a popular 4-mile route with ferry crossings and scenic views.
There are also boat tours running from the harbour, offering a great way to see the coastline.
