PlayStation Plus subscribers face an extra long wait to discover the identity of the Essentials games for October.
Consisting of multiple PS4 and PS5 titles, PS Plus games launch on the first Tuesday of the month, but are announced the Wednesday before.
Unfortunately, however, due to the way the dates fall, this means the October line-up won't be available until October 7, with the announcement coming on October 1.
The only plus side is that fans will have extra time to redeem the current line-up, which is headlined by Psychonauts 2.
There is, however, a slim chance Sony will announce the line-up early as part of the rumoured PlayStation State of Play event.
Sony is reportedly planning to hold a State of Play event in the week beginning September 22.
The event will likely shed light on the upcoming Wolverine game, not to mention Sony's next big blockbuster Ghost of Yotei.
There's also a good chance Sony will unveil the new PS Plus games, perhaps with an early release or two.
As for the current line-up, Psychonauts 2 is arguably the highest-profile game, although Stardew Valley is almost certainly the best.
The cozy farming game tasks players with transforming the fortunes of the family farm. In addition to growing crops and taking care of animals, you'll also need to build relationships with the locals and help rebuild the community centre.
In addition to Psychonauts 2 and Stardew Valley, PS Plus subscribers can also get their hands on first-person puzzle game Viewfinder.
"Use an instant camera to challenge perception, redefine reality and reshape the world," reads the official description.
"View the world through a new lens in this charming and unique first-person puzzle adventure. Reshape a wealth of stunning environments through your instant camera's viewfinder in order to solve a variety of mind-bending puzzles.
"Bring photos, paintings, sketches and postcards to life as you reshape reality and slowly uncover the surprising mysteries that lie behind this colourful world."
